Bob Ell was born in Merriwa back in 1947. After leaving school, he took up a role as a carpenter. However, even then, his entrepreneurial spirit shone through, foreshadowing the success that awaited him in the world of business.
In 1976, close to his 29th birthday, he founded Leda Group, a privately owned property development company. Starting off with small-scale projects, these early ventures laid the foundation for what would become a prolific and lucrative career.

Ell is a director of eleven different dark companies. One of them – Leda Holdings
– owns four shopping malls in Canberra and Queensland.
Throughout his career, he has developed property in excess of $3 billion and currently owns more than 12,000 housing lots in the form of large, residential land project developments.
Ell previously owned a swish holiday home in Noosa. However, he sold that last year, before subsequently going on to purchase a stunning waterfront property in Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast in Queensland for $22.5 million. He also owns a home in Sydney.
